THE PURPOSE OF THIS BOOK

Is to encourage you to change the things you can and accept the things you cannot. Also, the book sheds light on what is really important when it comes to happiness and feeling great according to research. Creativity is important and the feeling of being in a state of "flow" where you forget time and place, can be extremely gratifying. Living according to one's higher values and utilizing one's strengths is also fundamental for peace and happiness.

I have come to believe that the most important skill we can learn as human beings is to create the life we want and need for ourselves. It is so easy to get influenced by other people and what they want. Some people will tell you that being rich is equivalent with being happy. People who aren't rich yet may very well believe that is true. In fact, research has shown that very rich people are only slightly happier than those who have sufficient means to live a normal, good life, with enough money for food, somewhere to live and maybe a vacation some now and then.

What I wanted

To me, potential in business and the challenge and adventure of the journey to succeed, has always been like a magnet. That's why I have started numerous businesses. Some have failed, and some have succeeded.

Total Life Change

At one point many years ago I got tired of winters in Norway with snow and ice and for several months of the year. So I decided to up and go and move to a tropical country. I ended up in The Bahamas, and here I am today. While many of my fellow countrymen in Norway simply love the snow and winters, I prefer tropical temperatures and white, sandy beaches with lukewarm waters. For me, moving to The Bahamas was the right decision.

High price to pay for Paradise

Living in Paradise has its price. My world as I knew it was upended when Hurricane Dorian destroyed everything in its path in September 2019. While the people of Abaco and Grand Bahama were grappeling with the PTSD from being in the center of the hurricane and watching the devastation after, the Covid Virus appeared on the scene 6 months later. I have been forced to be very focused and make some painful desicions in order to feel the best I can after all that has happened. I had to relocate and rebuild my life again.

What do you want in your life?

Do you even dare to dream these days? Are you afraid of making plans? The Covid times are upon us and bring fear and anxiety. Having hope is important. If you feel that it is time to plan for the future, for when things get back to normal, you're on the right path now, trying to figure out what you can do to feel better. This book is one step on the way. Imagine that you're standing on a rock in a river stream. You have to choose one direction to go from there. You don't want to fall in and get swept away with the current. It's time to regain control of your life, at least in those areas that you can actually control. It's time to get started!
